With awe-inspiring music that channels intense emotion, Dirty on Purpose, a Brooklyn, NY-based five-piece, has steadily built a stellar reputation for dynamic live shows filled with raw energy and an amazing list of songs that bleed like a fresh wound, sensitive and overwhelming. Guitarists Joseph Jurewicz and George Wilson perfectly complement each other with notes that shimmer with ominous, poetic beauty. This EP first kicks off (“Monument”) with a repetitive melancholy guitar drone that lends affirmations to U2. Then “Go Back To Sleep” takes us through a trip of dream sequences with soothing yet rasping guitars. It is as if Slowdive, Mogwai, U2, and Ride were all one band. The EP ends (“Practice for Having Sex”) with a strong chorus combined with a continuing rise in volume that leads the listener at the end to a climax. - Crashin' In
