Nimbus has a certain circus energy and crunch, like Henry Mancini with a distortion pedal. They fuse new wave garage pop and eclectic rock & roll influences into a danceable, thinkable mix.
Formed in 1997, by singer/drummer/songwriter Eileen Brennan, Nimbus went through several member changes until finding its secret extra-crispy formula with guitarist Joe Pavelka, keyboardist Bob Monsey, and bassist Liz Kennedy. They've got a van with a plaid couch, a duct-taped megaphone on a gooseneck, and a disco-doesn't-suck joy.
Now based in Brooklyn, NY, Nimbus has spent the past five years playing all-age shows and clubs throughout the Northeast, including showcases in the CMJ, Independent Music, and NXNE music festivals. Even before the official release of their self-released debut, "Discobolus", Tokyo's cutting edge radio station InterFM was playing the infectious "Decoy" via a widely circulated MP3 file. Nimbus is currently working on their next recording.
